SBES Student Research Symposium
The annual Student Research Symposium (Wake Forest Campus) is a student-run and organized event, including soliciting donations from industry for support. Aside from participating students, symposium attendance includes both faculty from both campuses as well as industry representatives. It's an opportunity for students to discuss and present their research to attendees from both campuses, fostering an environment to refine skills that can be applied at national conferences.
BMES Annual Conference
The Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) serves as the lead societal and professional home for biomedical engineering and bioengineering. The BMES Annual Meeting is home to more than 2,000 leading scientific presentations, a Career Fair, and sessions of networking and career development, amongst others.
Other Annual Club Events
Both the Virginia Tech and Wake Forest Chapters participate in a myriad of annual club events. Some of the events include community outreach (judging in local science fairs and involvement in local grade school afterschool organizations), professional events (BMES Symposium, Industy Lunch and Learns, and mentor-mentee Programs), and social events (happy hours, game nights, and potlucks).
